You’re here, and I couldn’t be happier about it!

I am Brittany, and you have just arrived at my favorite corner of the internet.  This is where we chat and I open up my kitchen.  I love to cook and what better reason to cook, than to share with others.

Our Philosophy & What You Should Know

I have a lot of real-life friends that have sweet little babies and little time, so that’s where my heart is!  I focus on simple, clean meals that you can enjoy, feel good about feeding your family and also don’t push dinner time to 9:30pm.

My husband, Steven and I, are all about the 80/20 rule.  Now there are several 80/20 rules out there so let me give you the low down on this particular one.

  • Eighty percent of the time we like to eat clean.  Clean ingredients, lots of veggies, and pasta.  Always pasta.  But in moderation.  Here is where the 20% comes in.
  • We aren’t into diets around here, so this is about sustainable lifestyle and that 20% of fun and indulgence keeps us trying new things, makes life adventurous, and keeps us craving the healthy 80%.

We do not follow any specific dietary guidelines (gluten free, vegetarian, Paleo, vegan etc.) but eating clean ingredients will often fall into some of those categories.  I like leaning in the way of vegetarian but Steven has other carnivorous plans and will gripe.  My apologies.  I will still sneak a vegetarian dish in here or there though.

Let’s get something out there, because I can’t keep it from you any longer.  Spices are nothing to be feared & we are obsessed with Mexican food. And that is probably an understatement, so although I want all my internet friends here, you may be clicking the ‘x’ often, if you are against this cuisine.

I hope you like stories!  You aren’t really going to get a recipe without hearing my story for the day…(okay…you can scroll if you want to).  But truly, I am passionate about this little corner of the internet so you will be getting a glimpse into our world along with that recipe and I hope you will share your glimpse as well!  I so <3 when you do.

Steven and I have been married for a year and half so we still like each other and you will probably hear about that.  Don’t say I didn’t warn you 😉  He specializes in dish washing (I know, I have it made) and in eating anything/everything I cook. We make a pretty sweet team, so I’m gonna keep him.

Although my dreams are to share recipes with you 24/7 and all of us talk about our favorite gnocchi (it’s DeLallo Mini Gnocchi, if you wondered), it doesn’t currently pay the bills.  -massive tears-  Thus, I work fulltime in the cubical world & shuffle those papers with the best of them.

On a more serious note, I am always trying to become a better person and be more grateful of all the many blessings in life. We all have so many!  My goal is to live with purpose and share the hope I have in Jesus.
