I don’t know about you guys, but the Christmas season just awakens this desire in me to DIY all things, bake endless amounts of bakery-like sweet things, hang ALL the twinkle lights and send out just one more Christmas card to that person I met that one time that might like one.

I just get into the giving spirit and have an ounce more of energy to expend on craft-like things that say,

??HI, You’re one of my favorites.?✋

Well, in light of recent kitchen struggles, I thought now would be as good a time as any to share one of my favorite easy Sugar Scrubs!

And if you happen to be my sister-in-law LOOK AWAY, ?you are not permitted to read any further! Don’t ruin this sugary surprise that will be a Christmas miracle for your skin! Ahem, if you are not my sister-in-law, you may continue reading and get all DIY with your own Christmas skin miracle!

I use this particular sugar scrub daily when I am in the shower and there is nothing more relaxing! For years I spent way too much buying sugar scrubs in the store and sadly, went without sometimes because I couldn’t stand paying the price for something that seemed so simple! I won’t even start my tangent about the lengthy list of ingredients on the back of the containers. Surely not something I should be exposing my skin to daily!

So, like any other modern day gal I resist using my imagination and scroll through Pinterest and realize sugar scrubs are BEYOND easy. Like…sugar + oil= sugar scrub

WE GOT THIS.

There are SO many different varieties but they pretty much all use that same 2 ingredient base and then you can let your creativity take it away from there! My two favorite varieties that we will be chatting about are Lavender and Eucalyptus. Lavender is great for relaxation and Eucalyptus has a strong refreshing minty type scent. I adore both and couldn’t decide between them to share with you, so I have added details in the recipe notes to make either ?Easy 3-Ingredient Sugar Scrub-the perfect DIY spa gift that all your friends and family will love! There are endless combos for sugar scrubs but I like to use granulated sugar. You could also use brown sugar or pure cane sugar, but I prefer just a small amount exfoliation and granulated sugar is great for that! You could also choose different oils (olive, grape seed, etc.); however, I love coconut oil because I always have it on hand! Did you know coconut oil makes a fabulous makeup remover? IT DOES. I use it every night. But let’s focus on sugar instead of weird things Brittany does each night 0_0.Easy 3-Ingredient Sugar Scrub-the perfect DIY spa gift that all your friends and family will love! As you can see, this little DIY gift is simple, easy and totally exciting to receive! Homemade gifts, that you can actually use, are AMAZING. I mean, we all want more bags of cookies with little happy snowmen all over them, but a gift you can use past the holidays is just what you need to get through that dreary January!

Remember to use your imagination when you make your sugar scrub and use whatever you have on hand! Lemon juice, and zest are a great simple scrub, or get all snazzy and mix up coffee grounds or spiced teas! The options TRULY are endless…if I hadn’t already mentioned that 5067891 times.Easy 3-Ingredient Sugar Scrub-the perfect DIY spa gift that all your friends and family will love! Easy 3-Ingredient Sugar Scrub

Prep time
Total time

Author:
Serves: 6 4oz jars
Ingredients
  • 1⅓ cups Coconut Oil
  • 3 cups Granulated Sugar
  • Essential Oils* (see notes)
Instructions
  1. Microwave coconut oil until melted and creamy but not hot liquid. The best way is to microwave partially and stir so the remaining oil comes to room temperature without causing everything to be too hot.
  2. Add oil to a bowl and stir in sugar, you may need to add more or less sugar depending on how oily you want your sugar scrub.
  3. Finally, stir in 20-25 drops lavender or 15-20 drops eucalyptus and pour into jars.
Notes
Oil will solidify if kept in temperatures cooler than 76 degrees. I keep mine in the shower so it is perfect when I need to use it!
I personally like strong fragrance to my sugar scrub, so please add fewer drops until you reach the level of scent you desire!
