Naturally Sweetened Apple Everything Spread
Serves: 5 cups or 15 servings
  • 8 apples
  • ½ cup chopped dates
  • ¾ cup chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp. maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup 100% orange juice
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • ⅓ cup honey
  1. Use apple slicer to chop apples (peeling not necessary) and add to crock pot. Add remaining ingredients except chia seeds and stir. Set on low for 8-10 hours.
  2. Allow to cool and puree in a blender or food processor in batches until all mixture is smooth.
  3. Pour into a container and stir in chia seeds.
  4. Cover and place in refrigerator.
  5. After 1 hour place half in a smaller container to freeze for later.
  6. Serve spread on toast, oatmeal, yogurt etc.
