Spiced Apple Sauce with chia pudding

Ingredients
  • 2 apples, diced small
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. corn starch
  • ¼ cup water
  • chia pudding
Instructions
  1. Heat a small sauce pan over medium heat and add apples, honey, maple syrup and cinnamon.
  2. Stir to combine and cover. Allow the mixture to simmer for approximately 5 minutes, stirring frequently, to prevent burning.
  3. Meanwhile, stir the cornstarch and water into a small bowl until blended.
  4. Add the cornstarch mixture to the apples and stir to combine and simmer for another 2 minutes.
  5. Apple sauce is done, when you are able to drag a spoon through the mixture and the sauce covers the pan slowly.
  6. Serve over ice cream (I won't tell), chia pudding, yogurt, oats...the options are endless! The sauce will continue to thicken as it cools.
Notes
*I recommend using this recipeto make the chia pudding and substituting the chocolate for vanilla almond milk or preferred milk substitute.
*This sauce may or may not be delightful eating it by the spoonful.
