I adore sharing pictures of lovely food, talking about taco Tuesday and getting to connect with strangers that have become sweet friends (THATS YOU!) But my passion from the beginning for this blog was always to provide more than recipes.
We all love food and it is such a fun commonality to connect through but if you can allow this very non-food related post today and give me a few minutes to talk about heart things, then consider a hug sent in your direction.
Children’s Shelter of Cebu
My heart was tugged about a year ago when I learned of The Children’s Shelter of Cebu on Lindsay Ostrom’s blog, Pinch of YumShe and her husband, Bjork, worked at the shelter for a year and she posted about it during their time there. I read every.single post from their time there and grew to love this sweet orphanage from afar.
Fast forward to today where I now have a food blog of my own and the burning desire to make a difference in more than just the kitchen and this post hit me like a ton of bricks and had tears streaming down my face. Here is my chance. My chance to have a part in something that truly matters. It means LIFE to 20 sweet kiddos this year. It means WE, the food loving community, have the opportunity to make a difference and come together for a worth-while purpose!
I urge you to take a few moments to read about these sweet children that are stronger than I will ever be and some have overcome things no sweet baby should have to. As you will see in their mission statementthis shelter gives a home, supplies nutrition and also feeds their little souls <3
Join me and so many others and make a difference in 20 kids lives!
Not everyone can give, and I get that. But if you are able, there is a little smiling face, that appreciates your sacrifice.
This fundraiser is open for 5 days and the goal that needs to be met is $20,000.
This amount will be used to feed 20 orphans for an entire year.
THEY NEED YOU!
