Burgers ALLL-WAYS sound like a good idea to me. It doesn’t matter how often I have had them, there is something about meat between a fluffy buns with ALL the toppings. We don’t have to discuss my love of toppings again…I know.
Y’all get it.
But here at the Honeycomb Headquarters we try to steer clear of the red meat as often as we can just for the sake of health. Not all the time, because there are some days that just call for the authentic BEEFY all American burger. But when you daydream about burgers daily…the doc says no 🙁
Not to fear though! It has caused me to grab that ground turkey and get creative!
This particular cooking sesh was driven by my love for Mediterranean Avocado Hummus and thus Mediterranean Hummus Burgers happened! Oh guys…you will feel like you have walked into a Mediterranean restaurant and ordered a gyro. In fact, Steven’s comment was, “It…tastes like a gyro somehow?!” Ha!
The Mediterranean hummus, with all of its Kalamata olives and feta saltiness, adds the perfect tone to this burger and makes for a very quick dinner! Simply toss all the ingredients in, form 4 burger patties and cook for a few minutes on each side. Dinner? DONE. Top those lovely burgers with feta cheese, crispy tomato, red onion and spinach for a fresh Mediterranean experience!
I have great news for you folks that don’t have my Mediterranean Avocado Hummus handy from last week. I know, I know it was because you loved it so much and wiped it out in one setting 😉
Athenos Hummus, Greek Style, is a flavorful alternative and would also be delicious to get you through in a pinch! It is a thinner consistency so you may need to add a bit more Panko.
We actually paired our burgers with 15-minute Party Corn but, hey, do what makes your Friday happy and let’s all celebrate because we made it to FRIDAYYYYY! Have a lovely weekend y’all!
P.S. We were in Las Vegas this week, oh hey SURPRISE, so update of allll the awesome things here, next week! 😀
