I don’t know about you but it has rained the majority of the week, the days have been long and cold…and wet (obviously) and I turn into this pathetic pouty child. To say I am affected by the by the weather would be a bit of an understatement. Just ask Steven.
Well, I am working on that. But in the meantime, I perk myself up with cozy, warm inviting drinks that are spicy, lightly-sweetened and not from little powder packets. Okay, lets me honest, sometimes that does happen.
But after this citrus spiced cider, I don’t know how I would ever go back! Steven and I have recently began buying Bai5 in bulk from our local Sam’s Club and naturally we have one of the same favorites. Which begins the whole, ‘how many did you have?’ ‘okaaaaaaaaay, you can have the last one ?’ ‘No…let’s SPLIT IT!’ It gets pretty serious.
Why they don’t just sell bulk of every flavor, I will never know. Anyway, our mutual favorite is Costa Rica Clementine and it inspired this warm drink and adds that hint of sweet natural flavor that sets it apart from regular apple cider. And it’s a glorious addition.
This is not a sponsored post, by the way, we are just sort of obsessed with their products and love finding a natural drink that we can fall in love with that only has 10 calories in the whole bottle and completely preferable over a can of soda! Its gluten free, has zero artificial flavors, its vegan…I mean I feel so stinkin’ hipster drinking it that I may even try out some geek shades.?
Nah. Let’s not go that far. My face structure simply CANNOT pull those off.
OH, OH, OH! I almost forgot to tell you!
WE GOT A VITAMIX. (CAPS necessary)
We have talked about getting one forever and it finally happened and we are sooo in love. Like ALL the heart emojis.
If you follow me on Snapchat (yep, going to keep saying that until you friend request/follow me, deal with it ??), you saw my tutorial of this cider recipe! And my failed first attempt of chopping apples in the Vitamix. #reallife #Imlearning
Apparently, even the Vitamix can’t chop up apples that are completely wedged next to each other above the blades. However, it has been AMAZING and has allowed me to have healthy sorbet every single night since we got it in the mail. <–That’s totally true, you guys.
Prepare yourself because we will be having a LOT more smoothie recipes on this site and they are going to rock your world.
Oh, another random fact that completely doesn’t fit in this post: We are having a garage sale tomorrow and my husband is seriously motivated to sell, you guys. I mean, you want it? we got it. I have already found my craft supplies, our unused plastic plate ware from the cabinets and our suit case set. I mean, I guess I wont be doing crafts, eating or traveling anymore 0_o.
So basically, if you stop by and find my baby pictures or childhood stuffed animal on the table, please return them. They are not for sale ?. But we will be selling hot chocolate and apple cider…but…the packets. And now I’m a hypocrite and my life is a lie. But trust me, if you swing by, we will go inside and have the good stuff ?
Enjoy the weekend guys!
