I am NOT a morning person.
I would muuuch rather stay up late and do a million billion things than get up early and do them. Alas, my job has forced me to wake up before the rooster and prance around like a morning person when it is still dark outside. #notcool
I have completely formulated the perfect morning routine to get ready in less than 15 minutes and look…presentable. But no matter how many minutes I whittle off my routine, breakfast SHALL NOT be skipped.
Or coffee…but anyway…
I am definitely a breakfast person and know what a difference it makes in my morning when I get those taste buds going! Smoothies have been my go-to for a while now. I haven’t found a better way to have a quick nutritious breakfast blend itself up for me while I make said coffee! Because…multitasking is key.
My usual smoothie blend is of the berry nature, but with all this hot Georgia weather, this girl is thinking ALL kinds of tropical things…thus Sunshine Tropical Smoothie was born!
Fresh pineapple, mango, banana and peach yogurt make up the sunshine flavors and the orange juice, coconut water with pineapple as well as a splash of lime, give this smoothie its tropics flare! Throw in some protein powder for staying power and you are on your way to the beach…err in your mind at least.
One thing I hate is a watered down smoothie! A great way to keep away from this is by using frozen fruit instead of ice to get your smoothie all crispy cold. I freeze my all-most-too-ripe bananas in the freezer, by peeling them and placing them in plastic bags. It is also helpful to mash up your bananas a bit inside the bag—your blender will thank you.
If you find yourself craving more frostiness…or…a brain freeze (you weirdoes), I recommend freezing the coconut water in ice trays! Icy level will be to the max without lacking flavor!
Now go blend your way to a Sunshine Tropical Smoothie, close your eyes, and sniff a coconut car air freshener and VOILA—BEACH 0_0!
Disclaimer: This does not work on a Monday morning at 5:50 a.m. (not that I speak from experience or anything…)
